Bournemouth Borough Council required a term contract partner to provide drainage and water related services in support of three major areas of operation, Highways, Seafront Services and Housing.

Bournemouth Borough Council is a Unitary Authority who have to balance a service provision to the tenants of the Borough against a budget. In order to deliver an effective service, it is sometimes better to contract in services through specialist suppliers to minimise costs and overheads but still maintaining efficient deliverable. To this end, Bournemouth Borough Council identified a need, in compliance with Local Authority Financial Regulations and OJEU Compliance to look for a Term Contract Partner within the drainage and water solutions division.

The tender being presented by Bournemouth Borough Council was a renewal of one which Rescue Rod Group have had for some ten years, all be it with a relationship which can be traced back to the formative years of our business in 1981.
Rescue Rod Group evaluated the tender documents and with Bournemouth Borough Council being a long established and respected client opted to tender with keen prices reflecting the well established and extensive relationship which existed between the two entities.
The resulting submission was well received through the tender process and led to Rescue Rod Group being offered a new two plus two year contract.

As the incumbent supplier, Rescue Rod Group were lucky that there was no mobilisation and continued seamlessly to deliver an established and very effective service to Bournemouth Borough Council.
